On January 30, Weatherford Elementary School had the pleasure of distributing computer systems to 17 different families at their school. With much enthusiasm, the families learned how to connect all of the components of their computer. Students from kindergarten through fifth grade assisted their parents in setting up the system.
Once
all systems were up and running, a representative from Instructional Technology
led the group through some of the software that is loaded on the system. Mr.
Don Hartley provided Spanish translation when needed. Several Weatherford staff
members and Instructional Technology Specialists assisted the families in exploring
the new software programs.
Additional training will be provided in February to teach families how to install and use educational software. Several software programs will be given to each family to enhance each student’s educational experience at home.
Connie Lewellen, School Principal, and Arron Moeller, Principal Intern, are very optimistic about the opportunities that this program will provide for their students.
