One of the "hottest" topics in K-12 education today is the notion of
creating interactive activities for use over the Internet.
HyperInternet® is my term to denote the ultimate in multimedia
writing - combining static, local information sources along with
dynamic, network information sources to create activities, reports
and presentations that continue to evolve along with the information
sources. This concept has grown to include plug-in technology that
allows the creation of activities with true interaction by students
via Internet browsers. This also includes the "Mission Impossible"
aspects of how HyperStudio can allow your browser to accomplish tasks
that browsers can't do! Of course, this process must be intuitive for
all who get involved - and HyperStudio does a wonderful job of
supporting all of the above concepts transparently. HyperQuests®
come from the ability to create interactive, student-centered
activities where students are "guided" to authentic resources that
support their units of study best. If this sounds interesting, the
links below will take you directly to samples and software noted in
the writing. Resource
links are also available that I use in support of HyperInternet
workshops, including online samples of HyperStudio and PowerPoint
files used in these workshops and presentations.
