As a new administrator, I feel privileged and honored to be a part of the Barksdale community. It is evident here at Barksdale, teachers are dedicated, hardworking, and they provide an enriched nurturing environment for the students.

This begins my 14th year in education. Before coming to Barksdale, I was a 5th grade teacher and team leader at Brinker Elementary. I have taught 2nd and 3rd Grade Gifted and Talented in Aldine ISD, just outside of Houston, Texas, and one year in middle school, while living in Minnesota. I received my bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University, and received my masters in administration from Stephen F. Austin in 2000.
My husband and I have two small children, Avery who is 3 years old, and Cole who was born in March. Every time a decision is made about a child, I think to myself, is this the best decision I would want for my own children.

It is my hope to make every day a day where children are eager and wanting to come to school. It’s a joy to see parents working together with the school to maximize the education for their children.
