Pamela Murray has 35 years experience in education, 25 years as a teacher and 10 years as an administrator. Her teaching career began in Oklahoma, and she moved to Plano in 1984. Prior to her appointment as Barksdale’s principal, she was principal at Mitchell Elementary School from 1998 to 2006. She taught at Saigling Elementary, Brinker Elementary, Robinson Middle School, and was Principal Intern at Robinson and Rose Mary Haggar Elementary. She was also one of the original members of the District’s fourth grade integrated curriculum writing team.

Mrs. Murray received her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Southwestern State College in Oklahoma and completed her Master in Education Degree and Educational Administration and Mid-Management certification at the University of North Texas.

Mrs. Murray is married and has two children. She lives in Plano with her husband and miniature Schnauzer, Dorie. Her daughter and son-in-law, DeAnn and Robert Elliott, live in Clinton, Oklahoma and are expecting a baby in September. Her son, J.D., is a 2006 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in mechanical engineering.
