¨ Meet the learning needs of each child at his/her developmental levels.

¨ Provide an abundance of materials at each childs’ developmental level through our adopted reading text, Carlisle’s Literacy Library, class sets of novels, leveled readers, big books, class made books, and materials from Carlisle’s library.

¨ Use a balanced literacy program.

¨ Correlate our reading, writing, and spelling with exciting units of study.

¨ Recognize that reading, writing, and spelling are developmental.

¨ Help students become successful in the use of reading strategies.
