The elementary music program at Carlisle is aimed to help all
students gain an appreciation and understanding of musical elements.
Student learning is gained using the Kodaly Method, which is an
approach to music education that follows a sequential organization
of concepts and skills developed through hearing, singing, deriving,
writing, reading and creating music. The students learn
songs and rhythms from a variety of periods and cultures that
are enhanced by movement activities, dances, games and classroom
instruments
