Art - Fourth Grade

1. We learned about the importance of keeping art portfolios early in Fourth grade by showing examples by many famous artists. In this project, students made portfolios that would contain their artwork for the year. The students were allowed to decorate their “self-portrait” portfolios how they wanted. The art portfolios were kept to see the growth of the contents inside.

2. In the collage unit, we learned about artist Romare Bearden and how collage can be a fun and unique form of art. Using cloth, old photos, newspapers, and magazines, the students created new forms and ideas out of pre-existing ones.
