About Title I

The Title I program is designed to provide supplemental support to students who have been identified as scoring at or below the 25th percentile on district diagnostics and are at risk of not being successful on state assessments.  All students who fail the TAKS test and attend a Title I school, qualify for services. Additional staff positions and teaching resources are funded with the Title I federal grant money.  This allows identified students to receive the additional help needed to close their achievement gap.

There are two levels of school eligibility: Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance.

  • A targeted assistance program serves only eligible children who are identified with the “greatest need” for special assistance.

  • A schoolwide program permits a school to use funds from Title I, Part A to upgrade the entire educational program of the school in order to raise academic achievement for all students.

Our Mathematics Support Teachers

Francisco Noriega

Hello there!!! I am Francisco Noriega and I am honor to be part of the Forman family and supporting our students in the areas of mathematics and writing. A little information about myself: I am married to my wife Liliana and the proud father of two children ages 9 and 6. Before coming to PISD, I taught in Garland ISD for several years in grades 2, 4 and 5th.  I am a graduate of The University of Los Andes in Venezuela with an Undergraduate degree in Political Science, and a graduate diploma in Business Administration from the same university. I have a Master of Arts degree in Bilingual Education with a concentration on Gifted and Talented from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. I am a strong believer of the virtues of multilingualism and cultural integration. I enjoy learning and the potential it allows for each individual to reach for the sky. My greatest aspiration is to see our students succeed in life and becoming the leaders of tomorrow.  I spend my leisure time reading, watching political news and events on TV and/or some football; and yes cooking “delicious” meals for my family.
