Jill Bellomy is our librarian.  She graduated fromTexas A&M University with a Bachelor's in education. Jill taught for eleven years in grades 1, 2, and 6. She has taken many graduate courses in the "arts" (art history and architecture) and is currently finishing her Master's in Library and Information Science at the University of North Texas. Jill enjoys reading, of course, traveling, going to movies, and spending time with family.

Barbara Stohl is our technology guru.  If something’s wrong, call Barbara.  She’ll either fix it or find someone who can.  While she might admit to owning a slide rule in her youth, she pursued a career in accounting instead of computers. Now in her second childhood, she loves to play with computers and all kinds of gadgets, although she still doesn't know how to work the VCR!

Melinda Jones, our assistant librarian, attended LaGrande Senior High in Oregon. She is a graduate of LaGrande College of Business. She, too, loves reading and gardening and spends much time enjoying her children’s activities.

About our Library...

Welcome to the Rose Mary Haggar Library! Our automated collection of over 11,000 items includes books and audiovisual materials geared to enrich and extend the curriculum.

The mission of the RMH Library is to build a learning community that encourages inquiry and the effective use of information. Students are taught library organization and research skills to encourage independent information-seeking. Our children are also introduced to a variety of genres and authors, and reading strategies are emphasized during library story times.

Students visit the library weekly for book checkout and literacy lessons. Our library's open-door policy accommodates research, enrichment opportunities, and frequent student checkout. We want all Haggar Mariners to love to read, to be exposed to many types of fiction and nonfiction books, and to develop a life-long appreciation of literature.
