Ann Irvine:
I am a native New Orleanian and was the first in my family to leave the state. New Orleans residents are famous for never departing, and it was a bit of shock to find myself in Texas in 1980. I attended Tulane University on a scholarship where I earned my BA and MA. I also obtained certifications as an elementary teacher, gifted and talented teacher, ESL, reading specialist, and as a school administrator. All of my educational experience occurred in Texas. 2007 marks my 24th year as an educator and my 9th year as an administrator.

My two sons are native Texans, born in Ft. Worth in 1980 and 1982. Chris and Andy attended Plano schools throughout elementary and secondary grades. They both graduated from PSHS and then pursued undergraduate degrees at UT Austin and New York University respectively. They are now enrolled in graduate programs.

I was blessed to be part of a large family of 5 children that now finds itself dispersed after Hurricane Katrina. We look forward to special family events such as weddings and special birthdays where we can reminisce about the neighborhoods and homes we no longer can visit, but can remember with great fondness.

Cindy Savant:
I grew up in Dallas and graduated from Lake Highlands High School. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Texas, Austin. I completed my Master’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of North Texas and my Mid-Management Certification at Texas A&M, Commerce.

During my twenty-one years in education, I have acquired a variety of experiences. I came to Plano ISD in 1994 and have taught grades third, fourth and fifth at Forman, Haun, Barron, Jackson and Aldridge elementary schools. I have also served as an Administrator at Hedgcoxe, Rasor and Meadows. This school year I am also the Assistant Principal at Hedgcoxe Elementary, as well as here at Harrington..

Along with my passion for educating children, I enjoy exercising, reading and spending time with my family.
