Ann Irvine:
Welcome to Harrington Elementary! 2009-10 marks my third year as the principal of Harrington.

I am a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. I attended Tulane University on a scholarship where I earned my BA and MA. I also obtained certifications as an elementary teacher, gifted and talented teacher, ESL instructor, reading specialist, and as a school administrator. All of my educational experience occurred in Texas.
2009-10 marks my 26th year as an educator and my 10th year as an administrator. I also worked as a child abuse investigator for Orleans Parish and was a school counselor prior to teaching.

My two sons are native Texans, born in Ft. Worth in 1980 and 1982. Chris and Andy attended Plano schools throughout elementary and secondary grades. They both graduated from PSHS and then pursued undergraduate degrees at UT Austin and New York University and graduate degrees at SMU and UT respectively. Chris is now a financial analyst for American Airlines. Andy is a videographer.

I was blessed to be part of a large family of 5 children that now finds itself dispersed after Hurricane Katrina. After 3 long years of waiting, my brothers and sister banded together recently to help my mom move back to her home town. Mom will celebrate her first Christmas since Katrina in her own home cooking all of her amazing holiday recipes this year!

Norma Groetken our office manager, and Aretha Lafayette, our secretary, team with me each day to answer your calls and resolve your requests. We look forward to moving into the new 2010 decade as partners in education with you.
