My husband and I moved to Plano in 2001, and we both have been teaching at Haun Elementary since we arrived. I attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, and my graduate degree in Reading. I returned once more to complete coursework for certification in Administration. I have taught for 33 years in Mississippi, North Carolina, and Texas. My husband and I have two children, a son in the Marines and a daughter in kindergarten at Haun.

I am so fortunate to have opened Haun in 1997 as a kindergarten teacher. Haun is a fabulous place to work with the best staff, students and parents. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University for my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I finished my masters’ degree in Elementary Education at Texas Women's University. Throughout my teaching career I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and sixth grade. This is my 14th year of teaching for PISD. When I’m outside of school I’m busy with my family, but I also find time to travel to the mountains and the beach. I love to snow ski and water ski! I'm so excited to be back for another exciting year at Haun Elementary!
