Caplinger: I feel privileged and honored to be a part of the
Huffman community. It is evident here at Huffman that teachers are dedicated,
hardworking, and they provide an enriched nurturing environment for the
students.
This begins my 16th year in education. Before coming to Huffman, I was
an assistant principal at both Barksdale and Betty Haun Elementary. Prior
to becoming an administrator, I was a 5th grade teacher and team leader
at Brinker Elementary. I have taught 2nd and 3rd Grade in Aldine ISD,
just outside of Houston, Texas, and one year in middle school, while living
in Minnesota. I received my bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State
University, and received my masters in administration from Stephen F.
Austin in 2000.
My husband and I have two children, Avery who is in Kindergarten here
at Huffman, and Cole who is two years old. Every time a decision is made
about a child, I think to myself, is this the best decision I would want
for my own children.
It is my hope to make every day a day where children are eager and wanting
to come to school. It’s a joy to see parents working together with
the school to maximize the education for their children. I look forward
to meeting you and spending time with your child(ren). Together we will
soar high as Huffman Hawks to accomplish many things. You are always welcome
to share your concerns and/or celebrations with me.
