Welcome to Huffman Elementary School, home of the Huffman Hawks, Pride of the West Side, Pride of all of Plano. We have been soaring high for a number of years. Huffman is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. It is a great honor to be a KEY school for Plano ISD, where we are the model school for use of Best Instructional Practices in the classroom on a daily basis.

Children are the priority at Huffman. Each classroom is child-centered with the instructional focus on small groups and multi-tasking. We assist each child in setting and achieving academic goals while working toward their fullest potential. Our staff recognizes students' individual differences and works hard to meet their needs through campus assessment, a variety of teaching strategies, and tutorials. You will not find a more dedicated; experienced, nurturing staff in Plano that truly has the love of children in their hearts.

Our parent community is extremely active and supportive. The Huffman staff and community recognize the benefits of working together for the good of our children. The volunteer program is extensive. You will find volunteers in the classrooms, grade levels, and our Huffman Haven, a parent tutorial program, which assists students with their learning. Our PTA provides us with many wonderful programs including Texas Day, Cultural Arts Night, Field Day, and a Sock Hop, Veteran’s Day recognition and Texas Barbecue amongst many other activities. The PTA and school work together to provide programming that is in the best interest of the children.

Huffman Elementary is a warm, caring and special place. As principal of the school, it is an honor and a privilege to come to work each day. It is my sincere belief that the family, school, and community must work together for each child. It is our goal to create happy life-long learners here at Huffman. It is our belief that if you can teach the child to love learning, then they will want to learn forever. The Huffman staff and community make this belief a reality each day!
