Welcome to Memorial Elementary School
Memorial is a Plano school that is heaped in the "tradition of excellence" that is the trademark of all Plano schools. Memorial Elementary, one of the earliest schools in the Plano Independent School District, is dedicated to the memory of all former Plano students who have given their lives in service to their country in the Armed Forces of the U.S.
Memorial has enjoyed a high level of success due directly to the knowledgeable and dedicated staff as well as the caring and supportive community.
The long-range goal of Memorial Elementary School is to move into the millennium building on the established "tradition of excellence" that guarantees a quality education to every Memorial child.

My name is Maricela Helm, principal of Memorial Elementary. We are here to educate all children in a safe and nurturing environment. Students are reminded daily that Memorial Bobcats ROAR! We will work to instill respect for self and others, behavior that is on task and actively learning, responsibility for personal choices, and awareness of safety in all that we do during play and work. |
Being selected to serve as the Principal with such a phenomenal staff and community is truly an honor. I first began at Memorial in August 2007 as the Assistant Principal. In this short time I have grown to love the wonderful students and their families. Before I came to Memorial I was an Assistant Principal at Mendenhall Elementary. Prior to coming to Plano I worked in Dallas as a Dean of an elementary school, Multilanguage Specialist, and a teacher.
I am so glad that you have chosen to view the Memorial Website. There are many exciting things going on each day. I also invite you to come and visit our school and meet our outstanding staff and awesome students.
