We are continuing to teach and work hard with your kids!
Our learning environment will be one that encourages active participation on the part of each child. Children will learn as they explore, observe and interact with each other. They will be encouraged to express themselves through art, writing, music, and movement.
One of the most anticipated activities in Kindergarten is a visit from some special friends and Mr. Jim Dunlap.
This year he brought a really big frog, a baby American alligator, a really, really big snake, a tortoise and
an o'possum. Of course, the kids had lots of fun!

Meet Ralph, an African Bull Frog!
To make him look big around predators,
he sucks in air and flattens out on the ground.
They also met Harley,
a baby American alligator.

Toby is an African Sahara Desert tortoise. He's a tv star having been on the "Barney Show".
Opie is a 5 year old Virginia O'Possum. Did you know they are relatives of the kangaroo?

Of course, everyone's favorite is Squash - the Burmese python. All of the students are given the opportunity to touch Squash and find out what a snake feels like. They learn that it feels a whole lot like rubbing their own fingernail!

In conjunction with the safety unit, the Kindergarten students enjoyed a visit from the Plano Fire Department!!
The students were shown the full protective gear that the fire fighters wear when battling a fire. Afterwards there were taken out to see the firetruck up close. When the firemen recevied a call, the kids were able to see how quickly they can respond and were on their way!
