.: American Blood Centers National Gold Award
.: Approximately 80% of scores on AP exams of 3, 4, or 5

.: PSHS April 2005 Blood Drive collected 747 total units of blood in one day, potentially saving 2241 lives. PSHS has been the largest high school blood drive for several years running and continue to get better every year.

.: EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND ADMINISTRATION
.: PSHS Principal Dr. Doyle Dean was recognized for 40 years of service by PISD.
.: In 2005, The Dallas Mavericks and UPS awarded $1000 to the teacher and $1000 to the school of 10 metroplex teachers. Eugenia Jameson, Social Studies teacher and PALs sponsor, was recognized as one of these winning teachers.
.: PSHS 2005 Teacher of the Year was awarded PISD Secondary Teacher of the Year and Region X Secondary Teacher of the Year.

.: STUDENT ACADEMIC RECOGNITION
.: PSHS won the District UIL competition in 2005 with a total of 462 points. Second place had 247 points.
.: In 2005, DECA Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team and 2 Individual Events (Quick Serve Restaurant and Marketing Management) won at district and will advance to State.
.: The Academic Decathlon team took first place in the 2005 Regional competition and qualify to compete at State.
.: Two Plano Sr Speech Team members won scholarship monies in 2005 in the Free Enterprise Oratorical Contest sponsored by Alcatel.
.: A PSHS student was named a national finalist for the Science Talent Search sponsored by Intel. This honored is only bestowed upon 40 students in the nation.
.: A PSHS student placed first in the state at the Texas Junior Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium and earned a trip to National Symposium in San Diego in April.
.: A PSHS student placed first in the poster contest at the Texas Junior Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium.
.: 98% of the PSHS Health Science Technology students in 2005 passed the state exam and are now Certified Nursing Assistants.
.: The Siemens Foundation awarded one PSHS Student as a Finalist (1 out of 30 NATIONALLY) and three as Semifinalists (3 out of 300 Nationally).
.: Two 2004 graduates were recently given the honor of NFL (National Forensic League) Academic All-Americans. Only 7 Texans made the list - they are the only ones from Plano!
.: PSHS Student Congress was recognized by TASC (TX Association of Student Councils) for outstanding projects in the areas of health and safety, energy and the environment, pride and patriotism, and community service.
.: PSHS Student Congress was recognized by TASC for having an Outstanding Student Council.
.: At the French Business Symposium held on the campus of U.T.D. in November, PSHS students won first and third place in the essay contest.
.: PSHS has 33 National Merit Semifinalists in 2005.
.: Plano Senior Speech Team won First Place Sweepstakes at the TFA State Qualifying Tournament at South Garland High School!
.: PSHS Debate team received 1st and 4th place in the UIL District Meet. The first place team will advance to state.
.: Plano Senior Speech Team won First Place Sweepstakes at the TFA Qualifying tournament at Williams High School in 2005.

.: Plano Symphonic Band- Division I, Best In Class & Grand Champions in this division at the Buccaneer Classic Music Festival in Corpus Christ.
.: Plano Wind Ensemble- Division I, Best In Class & Grand Champions in this division at the Buccaneer Classic Music Festival in Corpus Christ.
.: Plano Concert Band- Division I, Best In Class & Grand Champions in this division at the Buccaneer Classic Music Festival in Corpus Christ.
.: Plano A Cappella Choir- Division I, Best In Class & Grand Champions in this division at the Buccaneer Classic Music Festival in Corpus Christ.
.: Plano Concert Womens Choir- Division I, Best In Class & Grand Champions in this division at the Buccaneer Classic Music Festival in Corpus Christ.
.: Plano Male Chorus- Division I, Best In Class & Grand Champions in this division at the Buccaneer Classic Music Festival in Corpus Christ.

.: Plano Senior High was named as one of forty-two schools nationwide have been selected as GRAMMY® Signature Schools for 2005 by the GRAMMY Foundation®.
.: At a reception for the Young American Talent Competition at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts three PSHS students received honors. PSHS students received a 1st place in photography, 2nd place in drawing and an honorable mention in mixed media.
.: The Plano Senior High String Orchestra for their great performance at UIL Concert and Sight-reading Festival on March 2nd at Newman Smith High School. The Orchestra received straight First Division ratings in both concert performance and in sight-reading, which earned them a Sweepstakes Award.
.: The Plano Wildcat Band received a unanimous first division rating at the Region 24 UIL competition. This allowed them to advance to Area Marching Contest
.: PSHS Tuba player will perform with the 2005 Texas All-State Band in San Antonio.
.: 20 PSHS Band students placed in the all-region band.
.: Four students have been selected as members of the prestigious 2005 Texas Music Educators Association Honor Choir.
.: PSHS Symphony Orchestra was selected to perform at the 57th Annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic.
.: Plano Senior High Symphony Strings came in 6th in the finals for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) String Honor Orchestra Competition
.: Plano Senior High School Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble received First Division Ratings at the American Classics Music Festival in Breckenridge, Colorado in 2004.
.: Plano Senior High School Wind Ensemble was awarded "Best in Class" in the 5A high school division at the American Classics Music Festival in Breckenridge, Colorado in 2004.
.: ATHLETIC AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENT
.: The PSHS Girls and Boys Swim Team won District Championships.This makes 2 district titles in a row for the boys and 4 in a row for the girls.
.: The PSHS Cheerleading Competition Team consisting of 11 of our cheerleaders, six from Varsity and five from JV WON 1ST PLACE in the Small Varsity Division of the ACA National Cheerleading Competition held in San Antonio, Texas.
.: Boys Cross Country Individual won first place at the UIL State Competition.
.: The Boys Cross Country team finished 5th at UIL Regionals.
.: PSHS Cheerleaders won Top Team at Cheerleading Camp in the Coed division for both Varsity and Junior Varsity Division. This was the first time both PSHS squads have ever captured those titles at the same camp.
.: Both PSHS Mascots won All- American Mascot and the JV Mascot won Most-Spirited Mascot.
