Connections (Introduction to Business) [. 5]
Prerequisite: None
Business Connections is a one-semester course to help students become
wise consumers of business products and services. This course describes
the place of business in modern life and contributes to an understanding
of economics and the free enterprise system. Topics of study include banking,
credit, insurance, taxes, marketing, money, consumerism, career investigation,
plus the personal skills needed to become a successful, effective member
of the business world.
Keyboarding

Prerequisite: None
Keyboarding can make the difference in preparing the student for today
as well as for the future. Keyboarding I is designed to develop correct
techniques using the touch system with functional speed and accuracy.
The student will be able to format simple letters and reports and develop
critical file management techniques. This one-semester course is for all
students to develop and apply hands-on keyboarding skills, which are important,
both personally and in the workplace. It is highly recommended that a
student enroll in Keyboarding to develop the skills needed for BCIS, Web
Mastering, Multimedia and Desktop Publishing. This course does NOT fulfill
the technology applications requirement for graduation.
Multimedia

Prerequisite: Proficiency in keyboarding and computer file management
In this full-year course, students will develop an understanding of the
multimedia project process, from planning and design, research and development,
to presentation and evaluation. Students will develop proficiency in the
use of text, graphics, audio, video, and multimedia authoring tools. Students
will utilize these skills to produce a variety of projects and presentations.
This course will fulfill the Technology Applications requirement for graduation.
This course may not be offered on all campuses. |
