| Stallionettes is a support organization of Shepton High School. The drill team is comprised of up to 55 sophomores who audition for the team during the second semester of the year (usually at the end of February). The purpose of the drill team is to provide support and entertainment through dance for the various sports teams at the school; the drill/dance team also competes in the American Dance/Drill Team competition system, and they produce an annual spring show. Membership is based on the student’s ability to dance. Judges procured by the district select the team; officer auditions are in April or May. Five officers represent the team. Members must be willing to stay late and work hard in order for the team to be successful. The Stallionette Booster Club is also very active in the organization; they support the team with an annual golf tournament and auction. The Stallionettes have won numerous national championships. |
