Special education services, as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, are offered on every campus in Plano Independent School District. Services are provided for students ages 3 through 21 and are individualized for each student's identified needs. Students with visual or auditory impairments are eligible to receive services from birth.

Identification of children with disabilities begins at birth. Plano Independent School District is actively involved with Child Find efforts to ensure that children who may require special education services have access to evaluation and services.
