In addition to working in a liaison role with the building principal and curriculum department to support the campus reading/language arts program, we are to:
· Facilitate the implementation of new materials, methodologies, philosophies, and innovations using those which meet the needs of students served.
· Provide small group or one-to-one instruction in reading/language arts in collaboration with the classroom teacher to students identified with academic needs.
· Model demonstration lessons in reading/language arts and initiate conferences with teachers about successful, effective strategies for classroom instruction.
· Support implementation of district and campus assessment strategies
· Monitor student achievement data and interpret, report, and act on results.
· Conduct formal and informal professional development programs for the reading/language arts program.
