Vicki Prouty

I graduated from North Texas State University with a master’s degree in speech/language pathology.  My family moved to Plano in the 1960s when the population was under 20,000 people, and there were only a few traffic lights in the entire town.  How things have changed!

My husband and I have two dogs who keep us quite entertained.  I enjoy shopping with friends, relaxing outside, and working out at the gym.  I love being a speech pathologist at Wells, because I get to work with a great group of teachers, parents, and children; and every day is a new opportunity to make a difference in a child’s ability to communicate.

One of my favorite books is called Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon.  The grandma is always encouraging Molly Lou to be proud of her differences and to see them as strengths.  Grandma tells her, “Believe in yourself and the world will believe in you too,” ... and she did!
