| The Williams High School Band is divided into three auditioned groups: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. In addition, there is an instrumental ensemble class where students work on All Region Music, Solo and small Ensemble literature, and continue the study of basic fundamentals. Auditions for band placement takes place in the spring of each school year. Auditions for the 2009-2010 school year can be found on the WHS Band calendar. The students in the three bands make up the Williams High School Marching Band. The marching band begins the first full week of August, and performs at all 10th grade home football games, pep rallies, the Plano East Marching Festival, and at the UIL Region 25 Marching Contest in October. After football season, the bands begin concert music. In addition to performing several on campus concerts throughout the year, the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble participate in All Region Bands, UIL competitions and a nationally recognized music festival each year. |
