Body Mechanics/Drill
team prep classes are offered for freshman students at Williams
High School. This class helps to prepare dancers for the Chey-Anne
Drill team tryouts. The class focuses on proper stretching and warm-up
techniques, basic dance steps including turns, leaps, and splits,
and prepares the students for a disciplined drill team experience.
The students wear a drill team uniform in class, and will participate
in the spring semester at a basketball half-time performance. The
students also learn basic choreography skills.
The award winning
Williams High School Chey-Anne Drill Team is for sophomore students.
Drill Team focuses on precision dancing, energetic performance,
and competition. The Chey-Annes perform at half time during football
season. Other activities include the Jr. Chey-Anne Dance Clinic,
Plano Christmas Parade, Basketball season performances, Competition,
Spring Show, and an End of the Year Awards Banquet. There are five
dance officers, and the team can have up to fifty-five members.
Discipline and Respect are among the team's primary goals, as well
as strong academics and striving for excellence.
