Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination is a creative problem solving competition
in which students work together in teams to find ingenious/creative
solutions to complex challenges. The creative problem-solving
process not only calls for divergent thinking, but also for technical,
theatrical, scientific, and even linguistic expertise.
Science Fair  
Sponsor: JorJa Landauer - 5th Grade Teacher
Science Fair is conducted for many reasons:
- To focus attention on scientific experiences in school.
- To stimulate interest in scientific investigation beyond routine
classwork.
- To recognize and commend youthful scientific talent and hobby
pursuits.
- To offer an opportunity for display of scientific talent through
exhibit and demonstration.
- To provide constructive suggestions for teachers and students
of science.
- To recognize teachers for outstanding sciene teaching.
- To stimulate public interest in the scientific abilities of
students.
Who May Enter
All students in grades K through 12 may enter a building science
fair. In order to participate in theNorth Dallas Elementary Regional
Science and Engineering Fair, each elementary school is limited
to: Upper Elementary – one entry for grades 4 – 5,
Lower Elementary – one entry for grades 1 – 3, and
3 – 5 entries for each grade 6 school. Kindergarten may
not compete beyond the Plano District Fair.
Exception: Any grand prize winning project of a district-wide
fair may be entered through its school in the Regional Science
and Engineering Fair, even though it was not a Grand Prize Winner
in its school fair. A first place winner at the Plano District
Fair may not enter the Regional Fair unless he/she is already
the building grand prize winner.
All projects entered in the Regional Science and Engineering Fair
must be entered by the school.
