  • President - Presides over all meetings of PTA and the Executive Board.  The president appoints all Board positions, with the exception of the  executive board which is appointed by the nominating committee,  and special committee chairpersons as needed.  They are in constant communication with the Principal and staff on dates and activities of the school and board functions.
  • Vice-President -Presides at meeting in the absence of the president, aides the president as needed.  Is responsible for gifts and memorials.  The Vice-president coordinates with the 5th grade volunteers concerning graduation funds. They also set up two school wide programs per year and purchase teacher of the year gifts for our nominees.
  • Secretary - Keeps an accurate record of all members of the organization, keeps minutes and records of all PTA meetings, handles all correspondence and sends out reminders for the General Assembly meetings.
  • Treasurer - Receives and handles all money for the organization. Keeps an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, is responsible for all bank accounts and pays out funds as authorized by the Executive Board.  Is responsible for paying quarterly taxes to the state and presenting a statement of accounts at each meeting.
Ways and Means
  • School Supply Sale - coordinates with EPI paper products and the teachers as to grade level and district requirements.  Arranges for a date of the sale prior to school and coordinates with all involved.
  • Gift Wrap - coordinates with gift wrap company and the school to arrange dates of the sale and pick up.
Hospitality - Plans back-to-school luncheon for teachers prior to the start of school.  Hosts a welcome back coffee the first day of school for parents.  Provide treats for the teachers throught out the year with the help of the PTA Board.  Decorates for the spring fund raiser and coordinates the New Board/Old Board brunch in the spring. 

Membership - receives all membership forms at the beginning of school.  Responsible for school directory which includes gathering the artwork, selling ads that appear in the directory, and coordinating with district printers. 

Newsletter - Gathers reports from the PTA members for the newsletter to inform the community of Board activities and school functions.  Responsible for layout and printing of newsletter. 

Playground (and Box Tops for Education) - Coordinates with Physical Education teachers to purchase necessary playground equipment.  Responsible for keeping playground in good condition with the help of Parks Department. 

Publicity - Responsible for updating the marquee to keep information current.  Responsible for updating the Birthday Board each month.  Notify media of events of interest regarding our school.  Publicize upcoming events and fund raisers. 

Room Mothers/Fathers - Responsible for filling all grade level teachers' home room mother/father positions.  Responsible for planning meeting at the beginning of the year with all room mothers/fathers to choose lead home room mother/father and plan activities for the year.  Room mothers/fathers are responsible for volunteer help needed throughout the year for various PTA fund raising activities.  Fifth grade room mothers/fathers are responsible for planning the 5th grade graduation. 

Safety - Organizes the McGruff houses and works with the police to distribute the signs.  Responsible for general safety education and the Bike Rodeo or similiar event to promote safety awareness. 

STOP - Works with the school counselor to pick STOP students each week.  Help the counselor organize various school activities throughout the year. 

Volunteers - Responsible for filling volunteer needs for room mothers, STOP, HEP helpers, special talents, Library volunteers, shoebox science kit volunteers, and other volunteers as needed by the teachers and staff.
