The
Reading Support Program is an early intervention program for
grades K-5. It is a language arts program that strives to meet
the needs of students performing below their grade level expectations.
The
Reading Support Program responsibilities are:
* Encourage and support the implementation of instructional
goals relating to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills,
the Strategic Plan of the district, and the Meadows SBIC.
* Facilitate the implementation of new materials, methodologies,
philosophies, and innovations using those which meet the needs
of students served.
* Provide small group or one-to-one instruction in reading/language
arts in collaboration with the classroom teacher to students
identified with academic needs.
* Facilitate and implement the dyslexia program for the campus.
* Model demonstration lessons in reading/language arts and
initiate conferences with teachers about successful effective
strategies for classroom instruction.
* Adhere to and promote the district’s philosophy of
instruction in the areas of reading and Language arts.
* Conduct formal and informal professional development programs
for the reading/language arts program.
