From the Desk of the Principal

As Principal, let me welcome you to Mitchell Elementary School. The school opened in the fall of 1992 and is named after Dr. Oliver Tate Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell practiced extensively in the Plano-Renner-Richardson area during the early 1900’s.

As I enter the doors each day, I am mindful of how honored and privileged I am to begin my Principalship at Mitchell Elementary.

Children are our top priority. The entire Mitchell family strives to provide a warm, positive, safe, and nurturing environment where all students are supported in reaching their personal best. By providing a strong academic program while developing responsible and respectful citizens, we give our students the necessary tools to be successful in the 21st century and beyond.

It truly does take a village to raise a child. This is why we value the partnerships formed between students, staff, and community. We are very fortunate to have a supportive and active PTA, caring and involved parents, and an experienced and dedicated staff.

As Mitchell Meteors, our goal is for every child to soar into the future, prepared to succeed at whatever he or she may endeavor to achieve. We are proud to be called Mitchell Meteors!

Linda Patrick, Principal of Mitchell Elementary School, has 10 years of experience in education, seven as an elementary school teacher and three as an Assistant Principal. Ms. Patrick received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Learning and Development with a Reading Specialization from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed two Master’s Degrees and her Mid-Management Certification at the University of North Texas. She received a Master’s in Elementary Education with a Gifted and Talented Specialization and she received a Master’s in Educational Administration. She is currently working on her doctorate degree at the University of North Texas.

Ms. Patrick grew up in Killeen, Texas and moved to Plano in 1996.
