Writing Skills
First semester's concentration is thematic analysis and grammatical revision. The concept of timed writing is practiced at the honors level primarily for SAT practice. Style analysis for tone, imagery and diction is introduced during second semester. Development of voice and personal writing is also a component of this course
Independent Reading
STAR-(Stop Texting and Read)--Students read in class a book of their choice and have discussions periodically on these books.
Recommended Background
- English 2 Honors or English 2 with a minimum of at least a 90 average.
- Suggested
PSAT score of 48 or higher.
