IKnows Expands the Total  Computers in the Library

In February, 2008, PSHS library began participating in a PISD pilot computer project. Ten mobile PCs, wireless IKnows, are now available for students to check out and use in the library.  Each mini-computer unit is capable of wireless printing, connecting to the PISD network, and accessing the Internet. 

The mobile pcs are popular even when the desktop models are available. Students spread their work out the library tables and refer to information on the IKnows. While the units are ideal for database and website driven research, some students are using the detachable keyboards for word processing as well.
