Directors of Plano West


Carla Ford-Rich is the Fine Arts Department Chair at Plano West and she teaches Theatre I, II, III, IV, Theatre Productions, and Oral Interpretation. She holds an M.A. and B.F.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has taken Graduate courses at Texas Women's University, University of North Texas, and Southern Methodist University. She has taught for twenty three years, eighteen of those years in Plano Schools. The summer of 2001 she had the honor of assisting professors in a three week Humanities Program for high school students at Oxford University in Oxford England. She is married to Steve, a DJ for REAL COUNTRY and affiliate for ABC Network Radio and is the proud mother of one very spoiled cat named Keela and a dog named Millie.

Norv Lee Sykes is the Director of Technical Theatre and also the TV and Radio instructor. He is a Graduate of the University of Mississippi with a B.F.A. in Theatre and second degree in Vocal Music. Other studies were done at University of Texas (education degree) and Southern Baptist T. Seminary in Education. This is Norv's 2nd year at Plano West. In the 80's Norv was the Director of Theatre at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, TX. He was also the Executive Producer of the Miss Texas Pageant for 8 years.
