AP Exam Room assignments can be found on the wall in the cafeteria.  Please check the wall the day before you are to be testing.  Review the blue instruction sheet you received at the AP Pre-Administration before your test day.

Senior Surveys will be distributed during English classes on Friday, May 2.  These surveys help us track the success of our students and our school.  Completed surveys should be returned to the Counseling Office no later than Thursday, May 15.  Any Seniors who are in CCCC English classes may pick up their survey at the Counseling Office.

Sankofa Foundation Scholarship - Seniors who are planning to attend college on a full-time basis and who currently have a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply.  Preference is given to students who have exceptional involvement and service to the community and who have a financial need.  Deadline is May 23.  Award amount is $1,500.

Seniors, if you are planning to attend the University of North Texas and major in Biological Sciences, please stop by the Plano West Counseling Office and pick up a scholarship application for the Clifton C. and Henryetta C. Doak Charitable Trust Scholarship.

STUDENT CONGRESS NEWS
All students who were planning on applying for a position on the Executive Council for next year's Student Congress need to have their completed application turned in by Tuesday, May 6th. All applications can be turned in to the front office or to Mrs. Nelsons's room, room E613.

Yearbook Information……………….

YEARBOOKS ARE COMING!!!
Pick up your yearbooks on May 7 and 8 in the cafeteria!!  There are separate areas for personalized books and nonpersonalized books, so make sure you are in the right line.  If you did not purchase a yearbook and want to, there is a one day yearbook sale in the foyer Friday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m. for $100.  There is a limited supply, so one book per person, first come, first serve.  Come early with your cash or checks (checks made out to Plano West Senior High).

BASEBALL PLAYOFF SHIRTS ON SALE TODAY!
New Baseball Playoff t-shirts are here for only  $5.00!  It has our new slogan,  "28 straight, a Date with State in  2008!  They will be on sale at lunch today and then again next Wednesday  during Market Day!  There is a limited supply so don't miss out, get yours  early!

 

MARKET DAY WEDNESDAY, MAY 7
The next MARKET DAY will be held on Wednesday, May 7 during both lunches in the foyer of Building A.  This is your LAST opportunity to buy spiritwear from the various Plano West booster clubs for this year.  Mark it in your student calendar and make sure to bring money for shopping on Wednesday, May 7.  Show your spirit – be Plano West proud!

Plano West Swim Team Tryouts - Are On!

The Plano West Swim Team WILL be holding tryouts as originally planned on Saturday, May 10th at the Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center.  Swimmers and their parents should plan on attending a short informational meeting at 11:00 a.m.  Please bring a completed Physical Form.  Requirements are as follows:
Demonstrate the ability to perform all 4  strokes: Freestyle, Butterfly, Breast, and Back.  Athletes must also be able to complete 4 lengths of the pool without stopping.  Please bring your own swim cap and goggles for tryouts.  If you have any questions please contact Head Coach Kris Jones at kris.jones@pisd.edu or visit our website for information and the Physical Form at www.Planowestswimanddive.org.

  Congratulations to Plano West Hockey Player - Gregory Douglas for being named Dallas Morning News Hockey Player of the Year.

    Congratulations also goes out to Hasheen Lad for being named to the First Team All Area Hockey Team. 

VARSITY BASEBALL PLAYOFF DIRECTIONS!

 
Attention:  The first 20 students that come out to the  West vs. South Garland game tonight at 7:00 will receive our new Playoff t-shirt  for FREE!  Come early!

The first playoff game is tonight!  It  is the best of a 3 game series. We will be playing South Garland at  McKinney Boyd at 7:00.  The next game is Saturday at 12:00, with another  immediately following, if needed.  McKinney Boyd is just down the  tollway.
