Promotion Guidelines for the Class of 2011 and Beyond
(4 X 4 graduation plan)
To be promoted you need to have:
1. From 9th to 10th- a student must have 6 credits minimum
2. From 10th to 11th- a student must have 13 credits which must include:
English 1 & 2
Alg 1 and Geometry
Biology
Either World Geography or World History
3. From 11th to 12th- a student must have 19 credits
It is extremely important that students keep up with their credit totals from
year to year. If a student does not pass a semester/year of a class, it is
necessary that they attend summer school or night school or take a class in
eSchool to make that up!
Note:
1. Each time you pass a class for the semester, you receive a half credit for that class.
2. If you pass all of your 7 classes for the fall semester, you will receive 3.5 credits.
3. If you pass all of your 7 classes for the spring semester, you will receive 3.5 credits.
4. Your total credits for the year is the total from sem 1 and sem 2/ possibility of getting 7 total for year!
5. Takes 6 credits to move on to 10th/ 13 credits (some specific classes) to move on to 11th at PSHS.
6. If you fail classes for the semester, you need to see your counselor to see what options are available to make them up. Options are: night school/ eschool/ summerschool/ and correspondence.
