Keyboarding
Keyboarding is a one-semester course which emphasizes learning to type by touch, developing proper keyboarding techniques, proofreading skills, striving for accuracy, and formatting of documents.  This course gives students the tools to survive in today's computer world, both in school and in the real world.  Keyboarding gives the student 1/2 credit in an elective course.


BCIS
Business Computer Information Systems I (BCIS I) is a one-year, hands-on computer skills course that satisfies the computer technology requirement for graduation. Students will implement personal and interpersonal skills to strengthen individual performance in the workplace and in society, and to make a successful transition to the workforce and/or post-secondary education. Students will develop technical skills using business applications of emerging technologies. Special emphasis is placed on basic skills for the following: word processing, database, spreadsheets and presentations. Team projects help students learn to cooperatively work with others. Students will simulate many real life projects such as buying a car and figuring monthly payments based on different scenarios. Software: OpenOffice (Writer, Calc, Impress and Base), MS Office, 10-Key Mastery, MicroPace Pro, Mavis Beacon. BCIS I satisfies the Technology Applications requirement for graduation.

Desktop Publishing
This course concentrates on design and technology skills for producing professional quality print communications. Newsletters, brochures, posters, marketing materials, and magazines are all examples of documents that students will create in this class. Layout, editing, and graphic design are some of the key concepts that will be emphasized in the course of study. DTP satisfies the Technology Applications requirement for graduation.

Multimedia
This course includes a survey of multimedia production tools and hands-on use of a variety of applications and hardware ranging from simple to more sophisticated. Students will work in six main areas: design and layout, graphics, audio/visual media, presentation/delivery, and evaluation; developing increased understanding and proficiency in each area as the year progresses. Students will participate in both individual and team projects. Multimedia satisfies the Technology Applications requirement for graduation.

Webmastering
This course will further students' understanding of the World Wide Web. Emphasis of the class is on design issues for web pages and construction of original web graphics and web pages. Students write HTML code, create graphics in Fireworks and, later in the year, use Dreamweaver to create web pages and Flash to create animations. Students will learn to consider file formats, file size, monitor sizes and resolutions, and non-uniformity among browsers in designing and creating web pages.  Webmastering satisfies the Technology Applications requirement for graduation.
