During your freshman year, you can try out for drill team for your sophomore year. The team goes to SMU Drill Team Camp and performs for judges to receive awards and medals in the summer. There the girls make long lasting friendships and learn to dance and work as a team. This year the Vikettes received a Gussie Nell Davis Award for outstanding teamwork, a Sweepstakes, first place award, for two performances, as well as many individual awards. All three officers were awarded  the All American Dancer award along with a few of the other line members. During the school year the Vikettes perform at numerous football games and a few basketball games. At the end of the school year in the spring, is the Vikette Spring Show.  From January till April the girls  learn dances and perfect them for their end performance. There they show their talents in a variety of dance routines consisting of dances made by line members, officers, as well as guy/girl dances.
