The world can be your "chalet" when you "ski" to this page. These hills are reserved for only the newest spots of Skiing the Internet! Trying to incorporate network resources into multimedia writing has become a hot topic in K-12 education today. HyperInternet® is the term I use to illustrate how HyperStudio works seamlessly with both local and Internet resources to create "truly" multimedia writing. This document includes tips and hints on NBAs and MediaLinker (it's the "official" conference handout!).
Lots of people have attended the popular Skiing the Internet® conference session throughout the country over the last three years. This year's theme is "Taming the World Wide Web". Here's your chance to read the conference handout online and download the software packages that are demonstrated!
Skiing the Internet® Volume 3 is now available! This popular disk-based hypermedia tutorial series has expanded to a third volume. Visit the announcement page for more details.
With all of the hype regarding Adobe Acrobat as the upcoming authoring package on the Internet, you'd think there are no alternatives for K-12 education if we want to continue to participate in the World Wide Web development. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you visit the "Real Time" HyperStudio page and discover how you and your students can create HyperStudio stacks locally and then share them over the Internet without resorting to HTML translating.
There are still not a lot of FTP sites offering HyperStudio stacks for downloading. As a start, you might want to visit the Anoka-Hennepin HyperStudio FTP Area and investigate what's available there.
Everyone wants to include high quality sound in their multimedia writing and QuickTime 2.1 offers you yet another unique way of including just that! Hear a sample of what 58K and QuickTime can give you in the way of music on your Macintosh! Travel to this Gopher site to download the latest version including the hard to find musical instruments file that supports better MIDI playback. While you're there, you might as well get the latest of version of Movie Player as well to act as your QuickTime "helper" application!
