Night comes slowly,
creeping up behind day,
and as it takes over,
the forest comes to life.

Andy's picture
Owls, bats, and mice, begin to wake up.
As the owls and bats take the sky,
the mice will take the ground.
The wind rustles in the trees,
as night moves around.

Now to the jungle...
as night moves around,
insects, frogs, and snakes,
start to move about.
Jaguars, bats, and panthers,
begin to take their places,
for it is now night,
in the jungle.
Now to the city...
where people are turning out the lights,
putting their pillows under their heads.
The end of the poem The stars are shining,
the moon is too,
and here I am,
asleep in bed.

Andy's final thoughts:

Real Audio (8K)
