AVID Tutoring Overview

AVID is a college prep program that serves the "middle" student. We serve 7th - 12th grade students at 21 different campuses. Tutoring is done during the school day. Schools have tutoring on either Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday. Tutors are matched with a school that meets their scheduling needs. You will work with the same teacher and students every time you tutor, so you really become an integral part of the classroom. It is great experience. Tutoring is done using the Socratic Method. Tutors serve as a facilitator, encouraging students to come up with the answers.
