Career & Technical Education Courses Career and technical education offers an opportunity to learn valuable skills students may use in high school, in college, in a career after graduation and/or as a financial means to help further their education. In addition, career and technical education helps develop qualities needed to succeed in the world of work. The Plano Independent School District offers career programs in a variety of career clusters. It is the policy of the Plano Independent School District not to discriminate on the basis of sex, handicap, race, color, and national origin in its career education programs or activities as required by Title IX, Section 504 and Title VI. The Plano Independent School District will take steps to assure that lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in all career education programs. A first-year student planning to enroll in a career preparation (co-op) program or a 2 - 3 hour pre-employment lab is expected to complete a student information form. This form may be obtained from the counselor's office. The fine arts credit required for graduation may be fulfilled by successful completion of Principles and Elements of Floral Design.
