Geography Awareness Poster Contest Winners
Congratulations to the winning students and teachers of the 2008 Geography Awareness Week poster contest. Over 25,000 K-12 students from across Texas participated in this year's competition, and 5 of the top 16 posters belong to PISD students! The winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges as the best representations of this year's contest theme - "Mapping the Americas: Exploring People, Places, Environment, Culture, Landscape." The 1st place winners, including Akhil M. from Stinson Elementary, were honored at an awards ceremony at the State Capitol Building in Austin on November 11th. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's poster contest!
