IC
During this unit, students learn to express ideas orally with the following questions in mind:
How is our world dependent on communication? How do we communicate effectively? How can communication be a positive or negative factor in our world? Economic growth in Texas is investigated through climate, transportation, and natural resources while considering the historical impact of exploration, immigration, migration, and resource limitations. In science, the phases of the moon, seasons, and weather are studied for patterns and change.

The unit study includes a researched theme project: Gather information about various types of problems and solutions. Create a booklet explaining the problem and solution.
Problem Solving: People solve problems in many different ways / How do we solve problems?
