Overarching Concept: Communication
Organizing Idea: What Does Evidence Tell Us About Our World?
Unit Contents
In this Organizing Idea students focus on evidence as a means of communication about the past and explore evidence, such as fossils, dinosaurs, clues in mysteries, and everyday objects. They see how authors and artists of our community communicate information and ideas. As a culminating activity, students create a "Memory Book" or "Memory Box" to show "evidence of learning" to the next year's second grade students.
