Unit Contents

IC
Students learn the importance of the interactions of people in a community.  The impact people have on a community, the responsibilities they have to a community, and the obligation they have to the future of a community is emphasized.  Energy related topics are used in order for students to realize the impact they have in educating everyone about natural resources, the environment, and ways to protect it for future generations.   Throughout the six weeks student learning focuses on characteristics of natural resources, different forms of energy in everyday life, and how cultures shape communities.

The unit study includes a researched theme project--A job in the community.
Neighborhoods & Communities: A community is a place where people live, work, and play. People need to work together so communities can grow / How do community members work together?
