Music classrooms include a full compliment of pitched and unpitched percussion instruments. Specialists use the techniques of Carl Orff to enable students to perform independently and in groups.

This elite music ensemble is composed of 90 5th grade singers from across the district. They rehearse weekly and present a variety of performances.

The Plano ISD offers a summer music camp for its student's competing in the 4th and 5th grade. The camp is four weeks in length and is offered in conjunction with various other summer programs. Students are invited to participate in choral activitities, Orff instrumental ensembles, and a variety of traditional singing games and folk dances. The camp activities culminate in a performance for parents and friends.

Each year the Plano ISD schedules a fine arts series to provide every elementary student the opportunity to experience outstanding live professional concerts and performances. Groups such as the Plano Symphony Orchestra, Kathy Burks Theatre of Puppetry Arts, and the choirs, bands, and orchestras from our own senior high schools provide opportunities for our students to study, enjoy, and attend a wide variety of musical and theatrical experiences.
