Making A Smoothie

Goal: Enjoy a fun activity of making a Smoothie while working on communication, literacy and daily living skills.

Materials:
Step-by-Step Communicator
Symbol representing cooking and symbol representing blender
Snap Switch Cap (2)
Powerlink Control Unit
Switch
Blender

Steps:
Place the symbol for cooking on the Step-by-Step Communicator.
Secure symbol with the Snap Switch Cap.
Record the recipe for making a Smoothie on the Step-by-Step Communicator, recording each message sequentially on each
step of the communication aid.
Place the symbol for blender on the switch.
Secure symbol with a Snap Switch Cap.
Plug the Powerlink Control Unit into the wall outlet
Plug the blender into the Powerlink Control Unit.
Plug the switch into the Powerlink Control Unit.
Activate the Step-by-Step Communicator to provide directions for making the Smoothie.
When it’s time to mix up the ingredients, activate the switch to turn on the blender.
Enjoy the fun snack or drinking a Smoothie!
