Regional Day School Program for the Deaf
Coordinator of
Deaf Education Services: Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf serves eligible students ages 0 - 21 who reside in a member district of the Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf Shared Service Arrangement Agreement. Any student who has a hearing impairment which severely impairs processing linguistic information through hearing, even with recommended amplification, and which adversely affects educational performance shall be eligible for consideration for the Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf, subject to the ARD committee recommendation. Students are served in the least restrictive environment which is determined by the ARD committee. Some students are served by itinerant deaf education teachers on the student's home campus, some are served by the deaf education parent advisor in the student's home, and some are served by a combination of regular education and deaf education teachers on campuses in Plano--Davis Elementary, Haggard Middle School, Vines High School, and Plano Senior High. Students who use sign language attend school on these Plano campuses. Member districts provide the transportation to these campuses.
