Summary
· Groups of students will participate in a Literature Circle to
discuss an assigned reading. The Literature Circle will be conducted through
video conferencing and will be facilitated by a teacher or librarian for
each participating group.
Objectives
Students will
· Develop an appreciation for literature
· Develop an ability to draw meaning from literature
· Collaborate with other students
· Improve communication skills, both speaking and listening
· Have an opportunity to present thoughts and ideas to peers in
other classes
Activities
· Students will read the assigned book, poetry, etc.
· Students will participate in the Literature Circle via Video
Conference
· Assessment of material read and of procedure

· Copy of material read
· List of pre-developed questions/topics
· Video conferencing equipment
Preparation
· Assign material to be read
· Teachers/librarians will prepare a list of questions and discussion
topics to be used during the video conference.
· Move equipment to proper room and connect equipment to electrical
power and network drop.
