What
do I do when the projector does not turn on?
- Check
that the STATUS indicator to see if the unit has overheated or the lamp
usage has exceeded 1100 hours. (See page 32 in the projector
manual.)
- Try
replacing the batteries in the remote control.
- Make
sure there is no obstacle between the remote control and the unit and
that you are within 13 feet of the unit.
What
if I can see the STATUS indicator lights but there is no picture?
- Check
that you have selected the proper input source you wish to project.
(See
pages 15 and 32.)
- Check
that the cables are connected firmly at the back of the VCR and computer,
at the A/V Switch Box, and the Wall Plate.
- Is
the POWER indicator flashing on the projector? (See
page 15.)
- Is
the STATUS indicator flashing on the projector? (See
page 32.)
What
does a RED STATUS indicator light mean?
- A
Red indicator light has a variety of meanings, but generally indicates
a problem is detected with the projector. (See
page 32.) Send an email to your CTA to let them know.
How
can I make sure the projector is turned off completely?
- Press
POWER OFF on the remote control for two to three seconds. When you have
turned off the unit, the POWER indicator light will start flashing then
turn to amber in one minute. (See
page 17.)
What
if my remote doesn't seem to communicate with my projector? (Even when
I have new batteries.)
-
The
remote seems to be most reliable when standing either directly in
front or behind the projector. If you are off to the side the projector
may not pick up the signal.
-
Remember,
if there are any indicator lights flashing on the projector you must
wait to send another command to the projector with the remote.
What
can I do to help prolong the life of the projector's bulb?
- Make
sure to POWER OFF the unit properly.
- Avoid
multiple POWER ON/POWER OFF cycling as much as possible. Example: If
the projector is going to be idle for 30 or more minutes, it will be
best to POWER OFF. If the projector is going to be used again in less
than 30 minutes, then utilize the "MUTE" mode until the next
use.
- Only
use the projector for "curriculum" purposes.
- Do
not attempt to handle, change, or "reset" the projector bulb
yourself at anytime. This includes family members, friends, etc. The
bulb replacements and resets are contracted with a company. In addition,
the projection system's warranty will be voided if non-authorized servicing
is attempted on the units.
- Double-check
the projector is off (amber light indicates the projector is off) when
leaving for the day.
What
do I do when the screen has a warning that the projector bulb needs replacing?
- Report
the bulb warning to your Campus Technology Assistant (CTA). It will
be best to do this in writing. (Email is acceptable.)
- You
may continue to use the projector for a grace period of time. At the
1100 hour mark, the projector will stop working until it is serviced.
What
should I do if the picture is displaying upside down on the screen?
- Try
the steps listed on page 24 of the projector
manual. You will use your remote and follow 6 steps in the section
titled "Selecting a projection type". Choose the "Front
Ceiling" choice.
