Ms. Renee Rucker
"I strive to be an active, visible leader that promotes a genuine caring and warmth to every student because I believe that is the key to success...

Student achievement is our primary goal which I believe should be met through various teaching strategies that promote student interest.  Learning is fun and students at Gulledge are given an opportunity to learn in many exciting ways.  Over the years I have learned to recognize that students will remember teachers by their warmth, kindness and enthusiasm...not always if they taught math well.  With this in mind I believe that all teachers should foster a safe, caring environment in order for the student to achieve academic success.  Academic achievement is also met with our partnerships with parents and the Gulledge Community.  We are very fortunate to have a supportive community that values the whole child.  I find real joy as I spend my day with the Gulledge community...it is a very special place to be."

Ms. Rucker became principal of Gulledge in 1998.  She has been part of the PISD team since 1984 where she began as a fourth grade teacher.  Her career in Plano has been filled with many experiences as a teacher, counselor and principal.  Ms. Rucker has taught at Jackson Elementary, Carlisle Elementary, served as counselor at Barron Elementary and was the counselor for Gulledge for two years.  She helped open the Jupiter Center, a pre-k school for ESL, in 1997 prior to being named principal at Gulledge.  Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Early Childhood from Quachita University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A & M Commerce.  She is certified in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, School Counseling, and Mid management.
