NEW TEXAS STANDARDIZED TESTING

Beginning in spring 2012, students will start a new voyage with the launch of the next testing program called the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness or STAAR™. Click Here for details.

NEW STAAR TESTING

Students enrolled in 9th grade in the 2011-2012 school year are required to take the STAAR EOC assessments for courses in which they’re enrolled as part of their graduation requirements.

Free & Reduced Lunch Applications

With the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year comes new changes for the Plano ISD Free & Reduced Priced Federal Meal Application. In addition to the paper copy of the application being received by all homes, an online application is now available. The online application can be accessed at https://fans.pisd.edu/fma . You may choose the application form you prefer, either the paper form or the online form. FANS will begin accepting and processing applications during the week of July 30, 2012. Households will be notified by mail as to which benefits they are eligible. Thank you for your help in this new process.

Voluntary Accident Insurance

The enrollment method parents will use to enroll students for the voluntary accident insurance has changed.  Parents will enroll online utilizing the internet instead of submitting a paper application.  Markel has dedicated a secure enrollment website. The website address is http://markel.sevencorners.com.On this website parents are able to:

  • View all of the coverage and premium options

  • Review a Frequently Asked Questions section

  • Purchase the insurance using a credit/debit card and receive an instant and printable confirmation of the purchase

Parents can also contact Markel at 1-877-444-5014 for details on obtaining a form for enrollment.

  • http://parentviewer.pisd.edu to subscribe, go to the site and setup your individual account information - you will need your child's school ID number. You will be abel to view your child's attendance and grades.
Winter Report Cards

Plano ISD will now be sending information electronically via Parent Portal, including REPORT CARDS. It is important for all parents to have a parent portal account in order to retrieve your student's report card.

Please go online to the Parent Portal at: https://parentviewer@pisd.edu to create your account. (You will need your student's ID number and be sure to complete all forms and other information required electronically.) First semester report cards will not be mailed home at the end of this semester.

Parents and students may access 3rd 6 weeks grades and semester averages on Parent Portal beginning Sunday, December 18.
