.: Cap, Gown & Announcements


Jostens is the 2012 supplier of announcements and caps and gowns. Packets for cap and gowns, and other graduation gear were distributed in the fall.

If you have not yet ordered your cap, gown and/or announcements, please visit Jostens’ website at www.texasgradshop.com.

Jostens is located at 3115 West Parker in Plano (N.W. corner of Parker and Independence). For additional  information, store hours and assistance, please call Jostens - 972 612 5873.

.: Rehearsal

Rehearsal is mandatory for all seniors who plan to participate in the graduation ceremony.  The rehearsal will be held in the gym Wednesday, May 30 at 1:15 pm. The rehearsal will last less than one hour.

.: Tickets for Family and Guests

Tickets will be required for guest admittance into the Convention Center. All guest will need a ticket, regardless of age. Each graduate will be given six (6) tickets by their counselor when they go through "SENIOR EXIT" the week of finals. The tickets are for family and friends, the graduate will not need one of these tickets. The graduate will receive a “green seating/participation card”; this will be their pass into the convention center.

.:Parking and Directions


General Parking

Two parking garages are located beneath the main level of exhibit space at the Dallas Convention Center. These spaces provide easy access to the arena. An outdoor surface lot near lower C lobby offers an additional space. The charge for parking in either area is $12.00 per entry, per vehicle.

Central Expressway
Take Central Expressway (U.S. 75) southbound. Take exit to I-35/U.S. 77 to Field Street. Turn left under the freeway and veer to the right onto Griffin Street. The Convention Center is straight ahead.

The Dallas North Tollway
Go south on the Dallas North Tollway. Take the Harry Hines/Downtown exit to Field Street to Griffin Street. The Convention Center is straight ahead.


.: Handicapped Seating

Handicapped seating will be on the arena floor behind the graduates. Due to limited special needs space we request that only one other family member/guest sit with the individual requiring handicapped seating.

 .: Ceremony and Dress Code

Seniors must arrive The Dallas Convention Center one hour before the ceremony properly attired in the maroon gown and cap with maroon and white tassel.  The ceremony is estimated to last 2 hours.

Ladies should wear dresses or dress slacks and appropriate shoes.  Gentlemen are to wear dress trousers, long sleeved dress shirts, ties and appropriate shoes and socks.  Lettering and/or decorations are not appropriate on caps or gowns, no shorts or athletic shoes. Graduates may not have personal items in their possession when they line up for the processional (CELL PHONES, CAMERAS, PURSES, ETC).

Students will sign a letter of understanding regarding conduct expectations prior to participating in the graduation ceremony. 

Each graduate MUST present an admission card in order to participate. Graduates will get this card from their counselor when all requirements for graduation are completed.

Dallas Convention Center and Plano ISD Policies
To respect and honor all graduating seniors and their families, please review these policies.

The Dallas Convention Center and the Plano Independent School District may refuse admission (or may expel) patrons for disruptive or disorderly conduct. Noisemakers and air horns are not permitted. Persons found with these items will be escorted from the venue. Other items prohibited at this venue are balloons, silly string/confetti, lighters, matches, laser pointers, weapons, back packs, large purses, bags, food and drinks, tobacco products, large flower arrangements, signs, large banners and professional cameras.

.: Live/Post TV Coverage


Plano ISD will broadcast the ceremonies live and on digital television and via web cast. Interested parties can record these ceremonies. A live webcast of graduation will air at WFAA.COM/Graduation opens in new window on June 4, 2012. You can also tune in to a live television broadcast on WFAA digital channel 8.2.

Beginning on Monday, June 11, graduation ceremonies will be replayed on weekdays and Saturdays through the end of August on Plano ISD's Time Warner Cable Channel 99 and on Verizon FIOS Channel 33, according to the following schedule.

  • 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. - Plano East Senior High School
  • 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. - Plano West Senior High School
  • 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. - Plano Senior High School

*Airings may be affected by regularly scheduled programming.

.: Professional Photographs

Flash Photography will photograph each graduate and will mail proofs at no charge within a few days of the ceremony. Orders can be placed on the Flash Photography website: www.flashphotography.com.

.: Graduation DVD

Plano ISD has partnered with www.gradmemory.com to provide a professional video of the June 4, 2012, graduation ceremonies. A professionally produced and packaged graduation video DVD, personalized with name and picture of each student, will cost only $24.99. Part of the sale proceeds will go back to the Plano ISD Education Foundation.

.: Diplomas

Actual diplomas will not be given during the graduation ceremony. Diplomas will be available beginning June 5, between 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Graduates must produce a photo identification to receive their certificate. 

If someone other than the graduate will pick up the diploma, a letter of authorization will be required.The letter must include the name of the person authorized and the name and signature of the graduate. Photo identification will be required.

The office will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday.
